Boroscapes = vignettes of the fragility and resilience of the built and natural environment
The work represents my thoughts about natures assault on the human made environment and the reverse side—humanities assault on the natural environment. The repair and patching of the built and the natural world can be aesthetically beautiful much in the same way that Japanese Boro Cloth from the nineteenth century elevated the simple act of repairing cloth to an unexpected source of art pleasing to the modern eye.
